Bay fight back to take the spoils at Whitehills

CRUDEN Bay travelled to Whitehills on Saturday in another PMac Division Two game.

A Tocher shot early on was easily collected by keeper McKinnon as the Bay tried for an early lead. However they found themselves one down after only five minutes; Duncan sliced a clearance and the ball spun into the path of the challenging Findlay who collected the ball and ran on to slot the ball past McKessick in the Bay goal.

Mckessick then did well to collect the ball after Gibb had made a run on goal.

The Bay then exerted a little more pressure on the home side in an attempt to get the equaliser..

The home side were still dangerous, however, in their counter attacks. Thomson had a chance from a Bruce free kick just inside the Bay half but the effort was well wide.

The Bay went two down after twenty seven minutes when McKessick having collected the ball from a long ball from the home side, then dropped the ball at the feet of Gibb who then ran on and put the ball into the net.

Glendinning put in a cross which went to K. Park who was unable to control the ball and McKinnonn was able to collect.

Further disaster befell the Bay after 32 minutes when Sime was unable to clear and Gibb got control of the ball and ran on and slotted it past McKessick.

The Bay pulled a goal back five minutes later. A. Whyte corner was put back into the area by Glendinning and K. Park was able to force the ball home. A Sime header was then deflected wide by the Whitehills defence.

The Bay scored their second on 40 minutes when a Glendinning corner was forced home by Mair.

A long ball from Mair intended for Whyte was then headed back to McKinnon by Bruce before the Bay attacker could get possession. Buchan then set up Glendinning on the left, who ran on into the box and put in a cross which was scrambled away by the home defence.

The Bay equalised right on halftime. Glendinning was bundled over in the box bylaw: K. Park made no mistake with his spot kick.

Mair headed over from following a Glemdinning corner at the start of the second half.

The Bay went ahead after 55 minutes, when Stuart attempted to pass the ball back to McKinnon; however W

Whyte was able to gain control of the ball and run on into the box and put the ball past McKinnon.

McKessick then did well to tip the ball over the bar from a fierce shot from Gibb on the edge of the box.

Glendinning then tried to set up Tocher who overran the ball and McKinnon was able to collect.

Whitehills tried to get back into the game but the Bay defended resolutely. The home side a chances; Sievwright heading over from a corner and Gibb put an effort well wide.

The bay continued to ataack and were unlucky when a Whyte corner was blocked on the line. Tocher then set up Whyte who tried to find walker but the ball was too long and it ran onto Keeper McKessick

The Bay increased their lead with a goal from Walker and Buchann completed the scoring in the final minute when he headed home Findlay free kick.

This was a good performance in the end by the Bay to win convincingly after giving away three goals in the opening half hour.
