The Buchan Riding Club held their last event of the season at Aden Country Park in Mintlaw on Sunday, September 20.

Mild autumn weather greeted the competitors of all ages as they took part in their annual Show Jumping and Dog Show Competitions.

Jumping fences from 50cm to 1.05m this was a good challenge for the jumpers.

Interspersed with the normal jumps were fun competitions such as the Horse and Hound competition where riders completed half of the course on their horse and the second half jumping the fences alongside their dogs.

Medals and rosettes were awarded to those placed in each event.

In the afternoon the club held a novelty dog show.

Dogs of all ages and sizes lined up to win exotic titles such as ‘Waggiest Tail’ and ‘Most Handsome Dog’.

Highlight of the dog show was the Doggy Puissance. Starting low, the competing dogs jumped over a fence that was raised after every round.

The smaller dogs certainly held their own and cleared the bar time after time while their owners on some occasions joined with them to vault the hurdle.

Winner of this prestigious event was Tiffin Anderson the black labrador.
