Big G Wanderers dominate

Big G Wanderers made it five wins from five matches in the Peterhead Sunday Soccersixes Premier Division at Catto Park this week as the league got back underway following an extended break over thefestive period.

Wanderers coasted to a 5-0 success against Paddy McGlone’s Missfits outfit with Sean Waddell doing much of the damage as he fired a superb hat-trick. Super sub Jack Taylor came off the bench and grabbed a brace to secure an easy win for the title favourites.

Inter YM remain in touch with Wanderers following a convincing 3-0 win against Pathetico Madrid for their fourth win from five outings.

Scott McLeod, Liam Aitken and man of the match Marc Beagrie were on target for Inter.

Camberwick FC locked horns with Sparka in what was expected to be a closely fought game and both sides did not disappoint as they battled out a superb encounter.

Camberwick proved stronger in the final stages of the game and goals from Sean Butcher and John Innes Arthur gave them a narrow 2-1 win which puts a dent in Sparka’s own title hopes.

Chancers and Brothers In Arms fought out the most entertaining match of the evening which finished all square at three goals apiece.

Chancers’ Captain Tev Warrander fired a double with Stewart Bennie grabbing the other goal but Brothers replied with three goals of their own to earn a share of the spoils and move up one place to seventh in the table.

The Alkis +1 recorded their first victory of the season as they crushed Unreal Madrid 8-0 in a bottom of the table clash. Madrid battled bravely throughout the game despite trailing from very early on and deserve credit for their efforts.

Alkis will be looking to hopefully build on this result and climb the table with more victories in the coming weeks.

League secretary Paul Spacey said: “It is fantastic to get back to league action after what seems like a really long break since before Christmas.

“I am delighted that all teams were in attendance for their fixtures and hope that they continue their superb commitment to the league into 2012.”

The Wednesday league restarts this week after the Christmas break.
