Local youngsters have been working together over the last six months to create plaques of Aden memories from the local community.

Members of the public were invited along to Aden Country Park to take part in the Aden Memories Launch Day on Saturday, June 28.

Organised by Paula Rawson, the young people involved were delighted to be presented with their Young Aberdeenshire Volunteer Award by Councillor Norman Smith.

They also took the opportunity to have their faces painted and have a go on the bouncy castle.

Families and friends of the youngsters were also impressed to see what they had been working on as they were guided around the plaques.

‘Track the Plaque’ guides are now available from the Aden Park museum and gift shop for members of the public to use to identify the various plaques.

One local resident commented: “The trail has taken me to parts of Aden I’d forgotten about.”

Paula said: “Thanks to Costcutters Mintlaw, GG Inflatables, and our face painters Chelsea Ironside and Annette Wallace for helping to make the event a success.”
