John Davidson is hoping to make contact with family relatives when he visits the north-east later this year.

And American man is hoping to make contact with any living relatives in the North-east of Scotland when he visits the area later this year.

John Davidson, who lives in Georgia, is trying to find descendant members of his wider family who might still be living in Peterhead or elsewhere in the North-east area.

John’s grandfather, John Davidson, left the Blue Toon around 1911 and subsequently travelled to America.

There he married, settled down and raised a family.

John was the son of William Davidson (1859-1921) and Elizabeth Gray (1862-1948).

A generation later, in 1945 John’s son James Davidson, who was by then a GI in the US Army, managed to visit the family home in Cairntrodlie, Peterhead.

While there he met his grandmother Elizabeth Davidson nee Gray, and his aunt, Annabella Davidson, who was a local school teacher.

During that visit, someone managed to take a photo of the three generations in the back garden of the family home in Peterhead.

The current descendant John Davidson from Georgia USA will be visiting Scotland this year and is interested in making contact with any members of the wider family who might still be living in North East Scotland.
