Peterhead twins Peter and Andrew Duncan have presented their third cheque to Cancer Research UK following sales of their successful fishing books.

The duo worked together to write the stories, made up of fond memories from their time at sea, since November 2011.

Their ‘Mair Tales of Twin Deckies’, ‘The Twins Move on with Time and Tide’ and ‘Pull for the Shore’ trilogy has had orders across the UK from Stornoway to Great Yarmouth.

Sales of the third book reached £3,700, and altogether, the trilogy has raised around £15,000 which will go to Cancer Research UK.

When asked if there would be a fourth book, Peter said: “We have been invited to write another one, we have had phone calls from Shetland down to the South of England with people asking us about another book.

“It is a possibility, we still have stories to tell.

“We will be fundraising by other means for the moment but the fight goes on.”

His older twin Andrew said: “We do have a laugh writing them.”

Peter added: “It has been a pleasure to work with Kathleen and the Relay for Life team, they have helped us to get back up and running again.”

Kathleen Chalmers of the Peterhead Relay for Life Team said: “We appreciate what they have done, it has been a fantastic fundraiser and we would like to thank all those who have bought a book.

“We are all very grateful.”
