Plans to erect a wind turbine at Yonderton Farm, Hatton, have been rejected by councillors.
Councillors rejected the plan at a meeting of the Buchan Area Committee last week.
The project was initially referred to the committee in June, but a decision on the scheme was deferred to allow the applicants time to address concerns raised by the Ministry of Defence and Environmental Health, relating to possible noise pollution.
The applicants had offered to reduce the height of the proposed windmill by two metres, to 36.5 metres. However, the MoD maintained its opposition to the plan.
Commenting, Councillor Stephen Smith said: “In future, I believe the MoD should provide more evidence to back up their claims.”
