Tricentenary progress

The latest meeting of the 1715 Jacobite Tricentenary Group was held on September 9.

The group is well underway with planning a series of events to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Jacobite uprising and the arrival in Peterhead of King James VIII - James Francis Edward Stuart.

So far the group is planning to a pageant, re-enactment, boat landing, and an Aberdeen University conference and a schools project.

Other events may be added later depending on the interest of other local groups.

The next meeting of the group will be held on Monday, October 14 at 7.30pm in Arbuthnot House to which interested parties are invited.
