Woman dies in two vehicle collision

Police Scotland can confirm that sadly a woman has died following a two vehicle collision on the A952 near the Toll of Birness.

A man has also been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Police were informed of the collision, involving a white Vauxhall Corsa and a silver Volvo XC90 at 7.35am and the Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

The road will be closed to allow for collision investigation.

Sergeant Rob Warnock, from Aberdeenshire and Moray’s Road Policing Unit said: “Sadly I can confirm that a woman has died as a result of the two vehicle collision on the A952 at the Toll of Birness this morning.

“The road would have been busy with traffic at the time and we are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who witnessed the collision to call us on 101.”
