Buchan folk face long detours

Buchan folk are facing major detours when the main artery between Old Deer and Stuartfield closes for road resurfacing.

From Friday of this week for six days, the B9030 Auchnagatt to Old Deer road will be closed from 300m south of its turn off for Aden Country Park, to 100m south of Old Deer cemetery.

Diversions will be available via Maud and Auchnagatt. It will remain closed between 9am and 4pm - excluding weekends.

Meanwhile, the A950 Peterhead to Pitsligo road will also be partly closed for the same period at Longside. Diversions will be in place via the A90 and A952.

There will also be a 30mph speed restriction in place on the A98 Banff to Fraserburgh road, between Woods of Blyth and Darralea for five days from Monday, October 1 to allow remedial work to be carried out.

Pedestrian access will be maintained in all cases, as will vehicular access to affected properties where possible.

Aberdeenshire Council has apologised in advance for any inconvenience this may cause while work is being completed.

It is also advising motorists to check its website for regular updates on all road closures in the area as the best source of live information at www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/roads/traffic/closures.asp
