A Peterhead care home has reached the final three in the national Scottish Care Home Awards for Care Home of the Year.
Allandale House has for the past three years attained Grade Six for the standard of their care, the highest grade achievable in Scotland.
The dedication of that care for their residents has now been recognised by reaching the final three of the Care Home Awards to be held in Glasgow on November 20.
Sarah Wright, Allandale House Home Manager, said: “For us it’s a huge achievement to get put forward because we don’t do it for the recognition we do it for the residents.
“But for three years in a row being a Grade Six is an great achievement.”
Only a small amount of homes in the country attain Grade Six results which places Allandale House among the top care homes in the country.
The team at Allandale House were nominated for the award by the community psychiatric team which Ms Wright described as an “honour”.
Ms Wright was also glad that the category Allandale House was being nominated for was the Care Home of the Year Award as she felt it best reflected the team effort that goes in to providing their service.
Ms Wright said: “What’s important to us is that when people walk in the door they feel welcome and they know who we are and what we do.
“That’s what we pride ourselves on.”
