Peterhead roads have been shut and schools forced to remain closed as the Toon flooded overnight after severe wind and rain.

The A90 into Peterhead is currently closed as is the A90 at St Fergus to Lonmay.

There are reports that the Asco South Base road is flooded and that stones have beenlaunched onto the road.

Roads have all been closed in and out of Boddam due to flooding.

A number of schools in the area have also been shut incliding Boddam, Buchanhaven, Clerkhill, Crimond, Longside and Maud.

Peterhead Academy is closed to pupils.
