Three long-serving members of staff at Boddam School will be retiring at the end of term.
Jane Strachan (Primary 1), Avril Murray (Primary 7) and head teacher Alison Nicol will leave after many happy years at the school.
Jane has worked there for 22 years, Avril for 27 and Alison for 35, although she originally started as a class teacher before taking over as head in 1992.
Speaking to the Buchanie, Jane, Avril and Alison said: ”There have been lots of happy years here, we have all worked together for such a long time and have made a good team, always working and supporting each other.
“The happiest memories we have are of the pupils and staff here, we will always feel a part of the school and look forward to coming along to their future events.
“The best memories are the Christmas Nativity plays and musical shows we have done including Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and Jack and the Beanstalk.
“We remember all our former pupils, some have moved abroad and taken a piece of Boddam with them, while others have stayed here, become part of the local community and some are now parents and even grandparents.
“We are all sad but leave with happy memories. It will be strange not coming in everyday but we will never forget Boddam as it is such a fantastic school and there is nowhere else quite like it, we all feel privileged to have been a part of it.
“We haven’t thought too much about what we will all do next, we are just focusing on the last week and look forward to seeing what the future brings.”
