Three people - two males aged 46 and 31 and a female aged 31 - are expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today (Friday August 12) following the recovery of heroin with a street value of more than £1,000 at a property in the Whitehills area on Thursday August 11.

A four-figure sum of cash has also been recovered.

Sergeant Scott Gove, of the Banff Community Policing Team, said: "I would like to thank the public for their assistance with this matter and for the vital information that was provided to us from the community."

He added: "Serious and organised crime will not be tolerated in our communities and I can assure those who choose to involve themselves in such activity will be dealt with robustly.

"We rely on information from the public to help us tackle drugs in the North East so I would urge anyone who has any information regarding drugs, or anyone who sees anything suspicious at addresses which they believe to be connected to drugs, to contact Police on 101 so we can act as quickly as possible.
