The 17-year-old male who died in the early hours of Sunday morning following crash on the A90 south of Fraserburgh has been named as Jordan Gibbins from Lonmay.

The teenager was the sole occupant of a grey coloured Honda Civic when the accident occurred around 3.10 am on Sunday morning.

Police Scotland are appealing to any witnesses who saw the vehicle prior to the crash to contact them on 101.

Speaking following the accident Sergeant Rob Warnock said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are obviously with the family and friends of this young man at this tragic time.

“I would appeal for anyone who might have seen the vehicle described in the moments leading up to the collision, or has any information about the incident itself, to contact Police as we launch an investigation into what happened.”
