Aberdeen Foyer’s Peterhead Prince’s Trust Team 37 held their final presentation ceremony at the Apex Church recently.

The evening, which was attended by over 80 family members, friends and partnership agencies, was the last challenge for team members.

They delivered presentations about what they did during their time on the programme and told the audience about their own personal journeys while also involving the audience in games, videos and quizzes.

The Team’s presentation marked the end of their Prince’s Trust Team Programme and they thank CNR International, work placement providers and organisations and local people who have supported them.

Over the last 12 weeks team members attended an outward bounds course in Newtonmore and carried out a community project at The Boddam Boys Club Pavilion.

Team 37 took part in a bag pack at Peterhead Morrisons to raise money for their chosen project which raised just over £900 to create an Inspirational Hub for local young footballers.

The team also successfully completed work placements at local companies including Ellon Car Clinic, Macbi Community Hub, Aden Motors, Happy Plant Garden Centre, Symposium Coffee House, GCG Shotblasting, JRDs Ellon, Peterhead Carpets & Blinds, Buchanhaven Primary School, Anna Ritchie School, Aberdeen Foyer and Peterhead Projects.

They also recently completed their Team Challenge in which they had to plan and carry out a challenging experience working with others within the local community.

The Team held an information stall about the Team Programme at the Mintlaw Academy careers fair, spent a day at Grangepark Care Home where they looked back at old pictures and shared stories with the residents, held an outdoor activity day with other Prince’s Trust Teams from Aberdeen and Macduff and organised an open day at the pavilion in Boddam showcasing all the work they did for their community project.

Prince’s Trust Team Leader, Tev Warrander, said: “This hasn’t been an easy journey for them but they have all come together and created something excellent.

“They have all increased their confidence and their motivation to go out and search for the right job or college course.”

All nine members of the team have finished the programme with nationally recognised qualifications.

The next team will begin on Monday, February 1 2016 and anyone interested in joining should contact Tev on 07930 605887 or email kevinw@aberdeenfoyer.com.
