Swing into the sixties and raise a pound or two

PETERHEAD man Scott Wood has organised an inaugural charity night for the National Autistic Society.

The event, which will be held at the Buchanhaven Hearts in February, will raise money for local service users in the area, and will hopefully raise enough dosh to go towards a new summer house.

The 60s themed charity night will have fun for all and raffles will be on sale throughout the evening to help boost the final total.

As well as a guaranteed good night, ticket holders will be entertained by Herman’s Hermits, one of the most successful 60s music groups in Britain. The group which formed in 1964, has sold over 75 million records, and to this day are still touring the world.

Organiser Scott, who works for the National Autistic Society, said: “We need to do some fundraising for our local service users there are eleven in the nearby areas, so we thought there was no better way to do it! 60s nights have became increasingly popular this past year and now that we’ve got a band to go along with the night we’re hoping to get all the locals involved and up on their feet.”

The charity night which is for over 18s will take place on Saturday, February 12 at 8pm. Tickets are £15 and can be purchased from the Buchanhaven Hearts.
