Stacey Ireland from Peterhead graduated from North East Scotland College’s Fraserburgh Awards Ceremony with an HNC in Computer Arts and Design earlier this month.
Stacey (23), had always hoped to pursue a career in art after leaving Peterhead Academy.
But it took her a few years of working in various jobs before she decided to apply to North East Scotland College (NESCol) to start working towards her goal.
She explained: “I worked for a few years before I decided I would go and study art and get a bit more direction for a career.”
The HNC in Computer Arts and Design offered Stacey the chance to get back into studying the subject she had always enjoyed, and it also offered her plenty of opportunities to develop new skills.
“It was a really diverse course,” she said.
“We got a chance to learn so much and the lecturers were always really helpful.
“We also got to exhibit at the end of year Art and Design show, which is a really good opportunity.”
Stacey enjoyed her studies so much that she is now working towards achieving her HND at North East Scotland College’s Aberdeen City Campus.
“I would really recommend the course to anyone who is interested in art.
“You learn so much about yourself as well as about the subject,” she added.
