Members of St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church Vestry, Old Deer, are due to meet at 19 York Street, Peterhead, on Tuesday, June 28, at 7.30pm.
A warm welcome is extended by Deer Parish Church Prayer Group to those who can attend the next meeting in Old Deer Church on Wednesday, June 29, from 6.30 to 7.15pm.
Peterhead Methodist Church, Queen Street, will be starting its Messy Church project on Saturday, July 2, from 10am until 12.30pm and those interested are warmly invited.
This is a monthly event which is open to families so that they can come and have fun learning about Jesus. During the morning, there will be lots of craft activities on offer for everyone to try.
Each month a different theme will be looked at. Following on from the craft, there will be a short time of worship and then, at the end of time together, a light lunch will be served.
There is no charge to come but please ensure that children come with an adult relative to promote the family aspect of the occasion.
Peterhead St. Andrew’s Parish Church, Queen Street, is running a holiday club from Monday, July 4, through to Friday, July 8, inclusive from 10am to 12.30pm each day.
The holiday club is called Pyramid Rock and tells the story of Joseph. Children from primary 1–7, regardless of where they live or which school they attend are invited to come along to the club. It is hoped lots of children will be there to enjoy an exciting, fun filled week with lots of games, craft and DVD clips. Children can register by coming along to the club in the church hall at the start of the week.
There is to be a whole Church picnic on Saturday, July 9, at Aden Country Park from 1pm to 4pm with races and games for everyone including the holiday club children.
From Saturday, July 2, to Saturday, July 9, inclusive, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Longside, will be having a Book Sale.
On Sunday, July 3, in Old Deer Church commencing at 10.30am, morning worship, to which everyone is invited and very welcome, will be led by the Rev. Sheila Kirk. There is no Sunday School but crèche facilities are available during the service. A time of further fellowship with teas being served will follow the worship and those able to stay will be welcome.
Fundraising for the Cruden Parish Church property project continues with the sale of 18th and 19th century Communion Tokens, attractively packaged and available for purchase.
Also for sale are notecards featuring a photograph of a view through one of the church windows.
A Strawberry Fayre is also planned for Saturday, July 16, in the manse garden from 2pm to 4pm – tickets £5 (Primary school children £2, Pre-school free).
St. Drostan’s Episcopal Church, Old Deer, is having a Family Service at 2p.m. on Sunday, July 3. There is also a Sponsored Walk being held that day.
The following Sunday, July 10, there will be a special celebration to mark St. Drostan’s Day.
Being the first Sunday of the month, July 3, the Peterhead Fishermen’s Mission marks the occasion by having the weekly Night Cap service at 8pm as a Songs of Praise. The old traditional Gospel hymns of the Sankey and Redemption tradition are featured then and they enrich the worship.
