Society celebrates after successful soup and sweet

The Buchanhaven Heritage Society are celebrating after their first soup and sweet event was deemed a huge success by visitors to the centre.

Large numbers turned out to support the event held on September 24,and preparations are now underway for the next one on October 2,2 between 12noon and 2pm on the day.

The next event will link to the fishing communities and again any proceeds raised will go the refurbishment fund of the "auld schoolie".

The latest development in the centre is the refurbishment of the utility room [the former staff room] and more details of this will be released soon.

Society vice-chair, Elizabeth Milne, said: "We were delighted with the large turn out on the day and we really appreciated the feedback we had, which will help make the next one even better.

"We look forward to welcoming old friends and new on the day and hope for another busy day to help us continue our refurbishment work at the centre."
