Shmeet to take on Aberdeen’s Tunnels

A POPULAR Peterhead club night is preparing to expand into the big smoke, with a special evening of live music at Aberdeen’s Tunnels nightclub.

Voodoo Lounge’s Shmeet has made a name for itself since it launched in 2010, delivering some of the best up and coming acts to Blue Toon audiences.

Now organisers are set to take on Aberdeen as they launch Shmeet this Thursday at the renowned city club.

The night promises a top lineup featuring local favourites Indianredlopez along with Glasgow based Song Of Return and Skies Fell, Thursday promises to delight music fans of all ages. Since forming in 2008, Indianredlopez have already made an impression on the Scottish music scene, securing plenty of airtime on BBC Radio 1 Scotland. The Aberdeen based five piece released their debut album ‘Empty your lungs and breathe’ last year and collected a gong for ‘Best Electronic Act’ at the Official Scottish Alternative Awards. The band’s live act promises to impress as audiences are treated to tempoed visuals on a backdrop of ethereal vocals and electronic beats.

Meanwhile four piece progressive rock band Skies Fell promise a set of danceable beats alongside thoughtful guitar, strong hook laden vocals, melancholic piano and epic crescendo.

Music fans aged 14 and over are invited to get on board with this smashing night of tunes from 7.30pm until 11pm this Thursday night (March 29.) Tickets £4 before 8pm/ £5 after 8pm. The gig will finish in time for people to catch the 11pm bus back to Peterhead afterwards round the corner from venue.
