A community event organised by Peterhead Youth Forum has been hailed as a great success by organisers.

The event, called ‘Sharks In The Park’, was held on Saturday 4 August at the skatepark in Meethill. The extravaganza attracted a turnout of over 300 people of all ages.

Activities included circus skills workshops, skatepark competitions and demonstrations, live bands, street sports, zorbs, basketball, bouncy castles, gladiator, sumo wrestling, face painting and a BBQ. Consultations and Transition Extreme provided coaching and mentoring, while Blueskate group organised all the skatepark activities. A number of information stands were also present during the day, including Peterhead Youth Forum, Dialogue Youth, Cfine, NHS and Community Woodland.

Commenting on the event, Youth Worker Tev Warrander said: “The event went really well. We are delighted with the turnout and how the day went.

“We would like to thank all the volunteers for their great effort and hard work throughout the weekend, and say a big thank you to all those who attended”, he added. Pictures of the event are available on Peterhead Skatepark’s Facebook page.
