The Buchan Observer’s Facebook followers have voted Scottish Week 2013 one of the best ever!
This year’s event saw a host of new events added to the programme, coupled with some traditional favourites.
And the mix has certainly won the votes of the Peterhead public, with many posting on our page about how fantastic a week it was.
Here are some of your comments:
Teresa Gammack: “It was a really good week with many things going on. My children enjoyed the art competition. We all thought the blades display was great and the goldilocks trial was fantastic. It was a good week though and will look forward to next year.”
Deborah Harding: “A friend from Dundee came to stay for part of Scottish Week because she couldn’t quite believe my description of it. She was blown away by the range of events and the good organisation. I congratulate the committee on their tireless work on behalf of the community. You even got the weather right this year!”
Vicky Slessor: “The Peterhead Scottish week this year was amazing I really enjoyed the sandcastle competition.”
Amy-Louise Buchan: “Best programme yet! The amount of hard work put in by the committee is obvious as it’s been a fantastic week. My favourite thing has been the Marinathon.”
Louise Reid: “I must agree that the programme was brilliant. Really well laid out and so colourful! What a huge number of events to choose from. You guys have done a magic job and have done our town proud - well done to you all!”
Valerie Lennon: “Not many Lucky Program numbers seem to be claimed. Could it be that people are not able to walk up and down streets to look for the numbers, is there an easier way to do the Lucky numbers so Disabled can claim their prize as well ? Otherwise a beautiful week with Brilliant craft Fair and Fly Past and Prize Bingo, though we did miss not having a cuppa half way through .”
