PETERHEAD Projects, the community owned and led social enterprise company, received a special visit yesterday (Monday) from Scotland Office Minister, David Mundell.
The visit came just after Peterhead Projects were named finalists at the Grampian Awards For Business Enterprise.
Staff and volunteers were proud to show off the facilities in the town to Mr Mundell, who was extremely impressed by the projects efforts.
Speaking to the Buchanie Mr Mundell, pictured above with project manager Karen Brown and assistant Brenda Allan, said: “The work of Peterhead Projects in the community is really impressive. It is an example of best practise and I will definitely be telling my colleagues at Westminister of the great work Peterhead Projects do and what can be achieved in other communities.
“They are providing people with an excellent opportunity for volunteering, which is not only beneficial to the community, but great for the individuals involved. There are a range of services offered here whether it’s the information centre available to visitors or the huge amount of recycling they do at 2ReUse offering people affordable goods in the community, this is just one example of what can be achieved in other parts of Scotland and the United Kingdom.”
