School prefects help to light up Peterhead

Prefects at Peterhead Academy donated £500 to help light up the Blue Toon this festive season. The pupil charity Prefects Charities raise money throughout the year and collectively decide which charities and organisations receive funding.

They agreed that the Light Up Peterhead (Lup) campaign was a worthwhile campaign. Lup is aiming to raise £3000 in order to ensure that there will be Christmas lighting and a tree in the town centre this year after it turned out the previous organisers were unable to continue.

Donations can be made on the group’s Just Giving page at www.crowdfunding.justgiving.com/LightUp to help reach the target. Any monies raised over the target will go towards next year’s Christmas lighting. Chloe Stephen of the Prefect Charities said they chose the cause to ‘give something back to the community’.
