The Rotary Club of Central Buchan has selected Nenah Bradford as its candidate for this year’s RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award).

The leadership training took place this summer over one week at Abernethy.

Last month Nenah gave Central Buchan Rotary a presentation on her achievements during the course which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Nenah was accompanied by her mum, her guidance teacher, Andrew Kilpatrick and a member of the senior management team, Nicola Robertson. The photo shows Nenah being presented with her certificate by Central Buchan Rotary Club president, Dr Bob Murray.

The Rotary Club of Central Buchan is proud to be associated with Mintlaw Academy and this year it will sponsor two students for the Rotary Young Photographer of the Year, a nationwide competition.

The club will be carrying out Mock Interviews with fourth and sixth year leavers.

It is also trying to develop a corporate membership with the academy.

However, the Rotary Club says it is unable to sponsor the Young Musician of the Year and Young Musician of the Future competitions at Mintlaw Academy due to a change in focus by the music department at the academy.
