Relay for Life Peterhead's final total has been revealed.

Relay For Life Peterhead 2015 revealed their final total on Thursday, August 20 at a team meeting at the the town’s Buchanhaven Hearts social club.

It was an amazing £181,420 - the most raised by a Relay in the UK so far this year.

This will be tremendous for Cancer Research UK to use to help those affected by cancer.

Event chair, Lorraine Coleman and the committee have expressed thanks to all the teams for their fantastic fundraising and the public and companies of the north east who have helped so much with their very generous donations and sponsorship.

Thanks were also given to the many volunteers who added to making the Relay such a success.

Cancer Research UK representatives have expressed their sincere thanks to the Relay.

Fiona Harvey the Senior Local Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research UK said: “We can’t thank everyone in Peterhead enough for their support of Relay For Life Peterhead over the last ten years.

“To have raised more than £181,000 in 2015 and over £1.2m since the start of the event ten years ago is phenomenal and a testament to the hard work that the committee and participants put in to making this event a success.”

Relay For Life Peterhead 2016 will be on held on Saturday and Sunday, July 2/3rnext year.
