BUCHANHAVEN pupils in P6a have given their backing to a campaign aimed at cleaning up the dog mess in town.
Claire Eade’s class all designed posters encouraging dog owners to pick up their dog mess and deposit it in the bin, after the Buchanie highlighted the escalating problem.
Mrs Eade and classroom assistant Elizabeth Milne are also both involved with the Buchanhaven Heriage Society, and when society chairman Alex Geddes jumped aboard the campaign they decided to get the pupils involved to push home the message to irresponsible owners.
Each poster designed by the pupils has been laminated and will now be placed along the length of Buchanhaven promenade - an area which is particularly badly affected by piles of dog faeces.
Commenting on their efforts, Mr Geddes said: ““ We were delighted with the support offered from the pupils at Buchanhaven Primary School to deal with this issue in an innovative way and seeing their work finished was an amazing moment.
“Their work clearly demonstrates how well they understand the issues that come with such unacceptable behaviour and they should be justly proud of their poster campaign.
“It also demonstrates what a forward thinking school Buchanhaven is and their teachers and headteacher should be justly proud of their pupils who are a credit to their community.
“I think we can look forward in Buchanhaven to a bright future with such gifted children becoming the community of the future.”
