Residents asked for budget views

Aberdeenshire Council will be setting its budget in February 2013 for the 2013/2014 financial year and is giving residents the chance to share their views and ask questions.

Three public events are being planned across Aberdeenshire, involving the Leader of Aberdeenshire Council, councillor Jim Gifford, other senior politicians and Aberdeenshire Council Chief Executive Colin Mackenzie

They will be present and mixing with groups to hear views and suggestions for how the council should be prioritising its spending for next year and future years.

In addition to the public meetings, two further online ‘question time’ sessions will be held with the Council Leader.

Cllr Gifford said: “It is important that the council engages with communities as part of the budget-setting process.”

The Buchan event is being held on Wednesday, January 9, at Ritchie Hall, Sleigh Crescent, Strichen. The event will open at 6.45pm for a 7pm start, and will finish around 9pm. Refreshments will be provided.
