The local Buchan group campaigning for Scotland to remain within the United Kingdom will launch next week in Peterhead.
The launch of Better Together Buchan event will be held at the Rescue Hallon Peterhead’s Prince Street on Saturday, November 9 at 10.30am.
Speakers will set out the positive case for Scotland remaining in the UK, and will include Lt. General Sir Peter Graham KCB.
The meeting will also be a chance for local people to find out how they can get involved in the campaign for a strong Scotland in the UK, and raise their questions about the ways breaking away from Britain would affect them and their families.
David Dalziel of Better Together Buchan said: “With less than a year to go until the referendum we need local people who support Scotland remaining in the UK to get involved in the campaign.
“The launch of Better Together Buchan is a good chance to do this.
“The response we’ve been getting on the doorsteps has been encouraging, but we are not being complacent. Whether it’s knocking on doors, delivering leaflets or just speaking to family and friends, the role of local people will be so important to winning the referendum.”
Rob Murray, National Campaign Organiser for Better Together, added: “Local people in Buchan have already been showing their support for Scotland remaining in the UK rather than going our separate ways.
“We want this launch to be a chance for local people to get the facts on separation and find out what they can do to help keep Scotland a strong and proud part of the United Kingdom. No matter how much or how little campaigning experience you have, come along and do your bit.”
