Homecoming grants on offer to groups

Tourism in the area has received a major boost from Aberdeenshire Council with the launch of a new fund to develop events to celebrate Homecoming Scotland 2014.

The £60,000 scheme is to support community groups and organisations on a not-forprofit basis and will help to expand a programme of Homecoming events throughout next year.

Aberdeenshire Council is now inviting applications to a fund which will provide grants to those who want to take part.

It is being offered to help make Aberdeenshire more attractive as a destination in the Year of Homecoming, bringing in new audiences and promoting the area.

Established events can also apply, if they can demonstrate additional features to promote Homecoming 2014 to visitors.

Thescheme will provide maximum funding of £5,000 per application.

Applications t will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis. For details log on to www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/homecomingscotland2014
