Police Scotland has appealed for information to assist their investigation into a theft from a van in an Aberdeenshire village.

The incident occurred in Mintlaw’s North Street area on Thursday, December 3.

A white Ford Transit van was ‘extensively’ damaged, which resulted in broken windows and a mobile phone being stolen.

Officers are keen to trace two males in dark clothing, seen in the vicinity at the time, who may have information that could assist.

Investigating officer, Police Constable Neil Duncan, said: “Despite it being relatively dark at the time of this incident, it was still early in the evening and those responsible would have made considerable noise.

“If anybody saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at this time they are asked to please contact the police.”

People with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
