Pharmacy proves a benefit to community

Celebrations were underway at a Peterhead pharmacy last week after it picked up a prestigious award from the Scottish Pharmacy Awards.

Buchanhaven Pharmacy on Skelton Street entered were shortlisted for two awards, ‘Managing Healthcare in the Community’ and ‘Pharmacy Practice of the Year’. Staff were delighted to hear that they were chosen as the winners for ‘Managing Healthcare in the Community for the Future of Pharmacy’, an award which demonstrated that the pharmacy had been successful at both developing and implementing an initiative which had benefited the local population.

Owner Sam Melrose said: “We were delighted to win the award last week. It’s great recognition for all the staff who make a fabulous team.” One of Sam’s other pharmacies in Alness also won the ‘Pharmaceutical Care Award’.
