The thrill of high speed, the roar of exhausts, the smell of grease and passion for sport... Peterhead Probus Club members were recently introduced to the world of motor bikes and more especially, the annual TT races on the Isle of Man.
In a change to the programme, president Ian Burnett introduced Lynn Smith who gave a fascinating insight into her family’s dedication to motorcycles, their use and maintenance and, in particular, their annual trek to the Isle of Man to follow the spills and thrills of the TT races.
Lynn traced her own interest in bikes, showed and explained the various models owned over the years and then, with the aid of photographs and maps took members on a historical journey from 1920 to the present day on the developments of TT racing in the Isle of Man. Here was a presentation, full of information and good humour, thoroughly enjoyed by all members.
The next meeting of the season for Peterhead Probus Club takes place in the Palace Hotel today (Tuesday) at 10am with the guest speaker being Major Colin Champion, chairman of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Help.
