Peterhead Girl wins big at national dancing awards

An eight-year-old from Peterhead has won a slew of trophies at the International Festival of Dancing and the Arts in Musselburgh.

Isla Buchan, in what was said to be an “emotional day”, won tow firsts and second as well as the sword dance. The trophy for this being taller than she is.

She is trained locally by Jacqueline Slessor, who said: “She works very hard in class and I am very proud of her. I hope she builds on this huge success and continues to grow as a dancer.”
