PETERHEAD folk are certainly supporting the town’s latest venture after it featured in last week’s Buchanie.

Auction it 4U on Marischal Street has proved a hit with shoppers to the delight of those behind it.

Loraine Strachan and Ursula Rose run the Pink Rose Gift Co. located in the new outlet, selling jewellery, handbags and gifts through party plan and fundraisers.

Loraine said: “Thanks to Auction it 4u we now have space to display it in a great location and have a great selection in store which is always changing.

“It really is a great concept and they are giving other small businesses the chance to sell their wares through the shop thereby giving plenty variety to the customer. We are always running special offers and have great deals on at the moment when you book a party.

“We are also looking for enthusiastic people to sell our beautiful range.”

The new retail shop, which follows the concept of your traditional eBay shop allows people to make a pound of two on their unwanted items, and is especially beneficial for people who aren’t confident in using online shopping and computers.

Business mentor Gordon Mackay, who helped with the initial set up of the Auction it 4 U concept, said: “Research proves that some people are uncomfortable with the commitment they have to make to websites and online shopping with setting up paypal accounts etc. The Auction it 4 U shop allows them to have the experience of people bidding for their items but without the worry and extra fees websites charge. We charge a small fee if a sale is made and if not sold, the item is simply returned.”
