Peterhead FC have teamed up with Steve Murray from the Fishermen's Mission to reach out to vulnerable local people and invite them to the club's next home game.

Peterhead FC are reaching out to vulnerable people in the community and offering free tickets to the club’s next home match.

Senior club officials are working with the town’s Fishermen’s Mission Superintendent Steve Murray to find men and women in the town who may be forced to spend the holiday season alone.

Mr Murray said: “We are really happy to be part of this, it is great for the community.

“At this time of year there is so much going on but for some people it can be very different.”

Peterhead are also inviting local organisations to help with the initiative.

On Thursday, January 2 2014, Peterhead welcome highland derby rivals Elgin to Balmoor.

The Scottish League Two match will kick off at 3pm and it is hoped there will be a great atmosphere for the holiday game.

If you feel affected, or are part of an organisation who want to help, contact the club on 01779 478256.
