Last week saw two local camera clubs hosted exhibitions of their finest work as part of the Scottish Week celebrations in Peterhead.
Craigewan Photographic Club’s display at Apex Church and Peterhead Camera Club’s exhibition in Trinity Church Hall presented the people of Peterhead with the best of their members’ work, including several award winning pieces.
Peterhead Camera Club also hosted a competition in which visitors were asked to vote on the best of their members’ pieces. The winner was awarded the Bloo Toon Trophy.
Chairman Norman Laird said: “A lot of the images you see on display here have been taken for club competitions.
“We’ve had themes including natural history and candid shots and are all chosen by members.
“If someone showed an interest in buying a piece it would be for sale but that’s no the object of this exercise - it’s primarily a hobby for us.”
At Apex Church a photograph by Ian Mitchell - runner up for best in show at the Grampian Eye competition -was on display.
Mr Mitchell said: “Our club is very informal.
“There’re no cliques and no committee which makes it really easy for beginners to get involved.”
