Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze through the night at Sandford Lodge in Boddam, near Peterhead.

A call was received at 2.30am this morning (11 August 2015) and four pumps, two from Aberdeen and two from Ellon, were sent to the derelict building.

Upon arrival, crews found the ground floor of the listed building well alight.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and two main jets to tackle it.

A height vehicle was also used as a water tower.

The fire was brought under control by 7.15am, but crews were still at the scene by 9.30am.

Fire Scotland said that a joint investigation with Police Scotland into the cause of the fire will take place, but no cause has yet been revealed.
