MP congratulates Gala organisers

Banff & Buchan MP Eilidh Whiteford has congratulated the organisers of this year’s Hatton Gala on another successful event.

The MP was on hand to assist the Gala Queen and Gala Prince to hand out the medals for the annual road race and then toured the various stalls.

Commenting, Eilidh said: “The gala organisers have done a tremendous amount of work and are to be congratulated on their efforts, it’s been a real community event.

“The turnout for the annual road race was huge with around 130 runners taking part and some very competitive times being recorded.

“It was a pleasure to assist Clarissa and John in their gala duties with the race medals.”

Peterhead South & Cruden councillor Stephen Smith who was also in attendance said: “There’s a tremendous amount of work goes in to organising these events and everyone who helped in some way deserves thanks for helping to make the weekend such a success.

“The weather stayed kind and there was a real buzz about the event with everyone enjoying the various stalls and sideshows.”
