Banff and Buchan MP Eilidh Whiteford and Peterhead SNP councillors Stuart Pratt and Stephen Smith made the trip to Hampden recently to cheer on the Blue Toon in their Petrofac Challenge Cup final against Rangers.

Dr Whiteford said: “It was an absolute privilege and thrill to be in the crowd watching Peterhead in their first ever senior cup final and full credit must go to th eplayers, manager Jim McInally, Rodger Morrison and all the club officials behind the scenes for taking the club to a final at Hampden.”

Cllr Pratt, a frequent attender at Balmoor, added: “This was a massive occasion for Peterhead. Peterhead put up a very spirited performance and matched Rangers in the second half.

“I’m sure the experience will sereve Peterhead well in the run-in to the play-offs and promotion.”
