An employee from local recruitment firm has walked her way to raising more than £2,000 for a charity.

Moira Murawiecka, sales and recruitment manager at Genesis Personnel, which has offices in Peterhead and Aberdeen, has recently completed the West Highland Way walk, raising money for a charity close to her heart, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Moira, who has been in the recruitment industry for over 17 years, tackled the 96-mile route, which links Milngavie, just outside Glasgow to Fort William in the Highlands, with her best friend Carole Tailford.

Moira, said: “It was very a tough challenge but I am so glad that we managed to complete it. We worked together, encouraging each other throughout the walk, even through the unpredictable weather conditions, and I am so happy that we managed to raise crucial finds for a very worthwhile charity.

“Carrying out these type of tasks or events that are out of your comfort zone is not only great for yourself personally, but it can also highlight previously unknown skills and the importance of communication and planning, which is vital in most job roles. Although this was an individual challenge, the management and staff of Genesis Personnel often work together to raise money for local charities, and the firm has supported CLAN and CLIC Sargent through various events.”
