COmmittee members of the Maud Football Social Club recently held a hugely successful fundraising night in aid of Breast Cancer.
The committee which is made up of 12 members, with 3 reserves, held a family fun disco in the club on October 1 and raised a fantastic £885.17 for the worthy cause.
One of the main organisers, Ann Paterson said: “We wanted to raise money for Beast Cancer as there have been members in the club and people in the village affected by it. It also tied in nicely with the fact that is was Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.”
Folk were invited along in their best pink glad rags, and took part in various games, bought raffles and finished off the evening with a good boogie.
The team of fundraisers are also looking forward to their future events, which will include fundraising for Children in Need and a day that will take past and present members on a trip ‘down memory lane’.
After celebrating their 40th birthday earlier this year, the committee have decided to hold an open day on November 19 for current and past members, the day will include a Soup and Sweet, Suppers and a Dance in the evening. So if you were once a member of the committee be sure to go along for a great day out.
