Maud Railway Museum open day

The fourth of six 2012 Open Weekends will be held at Maud Railway Museum this Saturday and Sunday (August 11-12) between 12noon and 4pm.

Located in the former Maud Station in the centre of the village, the museum is this year being supported by the Buchan Development Partnership, in conjunction with the ‘Friends of Maud Railway Museum’.

This coming weekend the Great North of Scotland Railway Association and Aberdeen Transport Society are providing photographic displays of transport in Aberdeenshire, and Des Byrne from Westhill is displaying a small model railway based on the old Aberdeen Harbour lines.

These displays will supplement the museum’s own unique permanent collection of railway artefacts and ephemera, including lamps, posters, tickets and even old staff uniforms.
