A man has been charged following reports of antisocial use of motorbikes in Peterhead.

Police Scotland can confirm that a 30 year-old man has been charged and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to road traffic offences following reports from members of the public of the antisocial use of motorbikes in the Meethill area of Peterhead at around 6pm on Tuesday, August 16 .

One motorbike was also seized.

PC Tom Allan said: "From results gained from the 'Your View Counts' online survey we know that road safety is one of the top priorities for residents in the North East.

"I would therefore like to thank the members of the public who phoned in with information about this incident and for their continued support in relation to road safety. Their actions enabled officers to act quickly.

"Anyone with concerns about road safety or antisocial driving should call Police Scotland on 101."
