Following a major refurbishment, taking some six months to complete, Longside Parish Church Hall will be reopening its doors later this month.
A week-long celebration of the event will commence on Sunday, October 21 at 11am with a special Thanksgiving Service in Longside Parish Church led by Rev Bob Fowlie.
The official reopening of the Hall will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, October 23 with the commencement of a three-day exhibition of photos and memorabilia of the hall and events which have taken place in it since it opened a hundred years ago. Opening times for the exhibition will be Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th 2-4pm and 7-8.30pm; Thursday 25th10am-12noon and 2-4pm.
Everyone is invited to go along and have a browse, a fly cup and reminisce on past events in lovely new surroundings.
The week will conclude with a celebration concert in the Hall on Saturday, October 27 at 7.30pm.
The concert will feature a new comedy Doric play, “Robbie Shepherd’s Nae Deid” by Gordon Hay, for which tickets are available from Longside Shop, Irene Birkett, Shona Marr, Margaret Gordon and Vi May.
Everyone will be made most welcome at all the celebration events.
