Peterhead’s Natasja Kaminski has been chosen to represent her town at this year’s Scottish Week after being chosen as the 2014 Buchan Queen along with princesses Ashley Mae Stephen and Stacey Robson
Seven hopefuls were vying for the coveted title and despite excellent performances from all the girls Natasja came out on top on the night.
Peterhead Scottish Week treasurer, Graham Barron, said: “They all did very well on the night, every single girl. This is the sad thing that unfortunately there were four that weren’t chosen.
“Any one of the seven girls could have been the queen or a princess. They were all excellent and it was very difficult to choose as there was nothing between them, it just came down I think to who did best on the evening.”
He also thanked the evening’s sponsors The Waterside Inn, Lena Levy Designs, Philip Stewart Photo graphics, Aberdeenshire Video Editing, Elmar Bridal and The Flower Shop.
The three girls can now look forward to the official crowning ceremony on Saturday, July 19.and a jam-packed week of family fun!
Also on the crowning Day this year, Peterhead Scottish Week have three junior Princesses, who will be crowned and help The Buchan Queen on a few of her engagements. The three winning girls Jenna Hurhangee, Jessica Taylor and Taylor Wilson were picked from 21 girls. The girls battled it out down the catwalk in The Palace Hotel, modelling clothes from M & Co and Asda.
Committee member Brian Carle said: “All the girls did so well. Each one could have won and all were worthy winners. I’m glad I wasn’t picking on the evening.”
