Young musicians to showcase their talent at Inverurie

A free concert to showcase Aberdeenshire youth music programmes will be held at Inverurie Academy on Wednesday, June 11.

The Aberdeenshire Jazz Programme will be presented by composer, saxophonist and jazz educator, Richard Ingham, and Richard Michael.

Both musicians have been working with local schools, pupils of which will feature in the concert.

Fetterangus Primary School Music Club will perform with a professional rhythm section and the Aberdeenshire Saxophone Orchestra, led by Richard Ingham.

Pupils from New Deer Primary School will present a Djembe African drum piece.

The evening will culminate in a rousing finale led by Fetterangus Music Club.

Other schools included in the concert are Mill O’Forrest, Logie Coldstone and Banff.

The concert is being presented by the Instrumental Music Service and Arts Development Team for Aberdeenshire and is supported by the Aberdeenshire Youth Music Forum.

The evening concert will kick off at 7pm and is expected to last for two hours.
