Study reveals RGU graduates come up tops with employers

Recently released government figures show that Robert Gordon University (RGU) has strengthened its long-established record for graduate employment and retained its position as the top university for graduate jobs in the UK.

Statistics from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) released on 3 July 2014 show that 97.7% of students graduating from RGU with their first degree in 2012/13 were in employment or undertaking further study.

The figures compare favourably with the average for UK universities which was 92.2%.

Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, Principal of RGU, welcomed the results.

He said: “Robert Gordon University aims to transform lives, and as part of that aim seeks to give all students the knowledge, skills and experience that prepare them for employment.

“We work closely with employers at all stages of the student journey, from course development and accreditation to providing scholarships and work-based placements and experiences.

“In this way we produce graduates that employers want.”

During their studies RGU students can access careers advice, find out about graduate opportunities and develop career management skills and this support continues after graduation.

This service helps give students the edge when it comes to finding employment.

The HESA employment indicator is based on the Destinations of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) survey and expresses the number of graduates who say they are working or studying (or both) as a percentage of all those who are working or studying or seeking work.
