Stuartfield pupils take part in workshop

A group of Buchan school pupils has taken part in a planning workshop.
Primary 6 pupils at Stuartfield School were shown plans and worked on blueprints where they could come up with their own ideas for the village.
The workshop was held to get the schoolchildren involved in the upcoming Knock View development and was led by architect Kevin O’Brien of McAdam Design, Peterhead.
Commenting, Headteacher Marion MacFarlane said: “It’s good to involve the children in the future planning of the village. It’s also very positive for the pupils to meet an architect and and find out more about the work he does.
“It’s great for the children to use their imagination,” she added.
Kevin O’Brien commented: “The purpose of this afternoon was to get the community involved. It’s good to get the children involved because they live in the village, they’ll grow up in the village and they may even move into this development.
“We want to be as open with the community as possible.”
